Welcome to my personal website! I’m Neil and I’m building safe AI systems designed to work with and for humans.
I recently completed my DPhil (PhD) in Computer Science at the University of Oxford’s Human Centred Computing theme, advised by Reuben Binns and Sir Nigel Shadbolt. My research focuses on Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, Explainable AI (XAI), algorithmic fairness, and designing AI decision-support systems for recruitment and mental health.
I’m currently an Advisor at the Autoscience Institute, and previously served as an AI Research Scientist there. Before that, I was an AI Research Consultant at the Ellison Institute of Technology and with Schmidt Futures’ Rise program.
In my free time, I read books; climb rocks; and play badminton and pickleball.
